Author: Craig P. Howard

Personal Review:
In this book, we meet a team of 16 boys and 7 adults who are part of a crew team that survived a 3,300 mile journey. This book is one that is full of adventure like no other. This book will leave you at the edge of your seat the entire read.

I think that the part of the book that stood out most to me was the amazing things that they experienced. I cannot imagine those freezing temperatures and the amount of work that they had to do to make the journey.

The author states that he tried to contact everyone involved in the story and represent their opinions to the best of his ability. I found the writing in a format that was informative and informational. I enjoyed this book. Thank you for the opportunity.

Disclaimer: I was awarded this book from the publisher. Though I did not pay for the book, the opinions are strictly my own.

Happy Reading!

  1. Thanks for the review, Valerie! I'm pleased that you liked Hard Rivers. The 1976-77 trip was an epic journey that deserved to be examined. The review process has been helpful to me, too, because I'm collaborating now with one of those voyageurs on a new history of La Salle himself. CPH
